DJHS Cross Country

Welcome to the DeWitt Junior High athletic page for Boys & Girls Cross Country!

We appreciate your continued commitment to support our student athletes in maintaining strong academics and his or her growth as a leader, team player and athlete on the field. It is our intent to provide all of the information you need to navigate your families journey through our athletic, arts, and academic programs. 2018-19 School Year:

  • Boys run first this season.
  • The girls will race immediately following the boys' race. The time is determined by the number of participants involved.
  • The meets begin at 5:00 PM unless noted by the hosting school for invitationals.
  • Also, please note the cross country parent meeting scheduled on the online calendar in the DJH auditorium.
  • Please check the "Forms" tabs for sports related documents including the "Athlete Release for Parent Transportation from Event."

The DeWitt Board of Education sets fees annually for student participation pricing. Sports Participation Fees (Pay to Play):

High School fee $225/Year ($500 Family Limit)

Junior High fee $150/Year ($300 Family Limit)

The limit for families with both high school and junior high athletes is $500.

Sports Participation:

Fees are due on the first day of practice/tryouts. If preferred, 1/2 may be paid on the first day of practice/tryouts, with the remainder being due by the first competition. Sports Participation Fees will be waived for families that qualify for free/reduced lunch through Food Services.


Students must have a valid, up to date physical on file at the junior high office before they can practice or compete. These forms are available at the HS athletic office as well as the Junior High Office.  Physicals must be completed after April 15, 2018 to be valid.


Student eligibility requirements are set by the DeWitt Board of Education in consultation with the Michigan High School Athletic Association. At DeWitt Junior High the athletic director pulls eligibility reports by noon on Friday. Any student that is failing any class is deemed not eligible for the full following week. Student's eligibility will be redetermined the following Friday for the following weeks competition.

Please take time to read and understand our athletic code of conduct. This document covers the rules and expectations of our athletes on top of the student code of conduct. The best place for our student athletes to start his or her season is with a strong understanding of the high expectations we have of them.
