DJHS Spring 2016 M-Step Results

posted Sep 7, 2016, 12:57 PM by Keith Cravotta
This week your student will be bringing home their individualized results from the 2016 Spring M-Step tests.  Students in both 7th and 8th grade were tested in the areas of Language Arts and Math.  Additionally, our 7th grade students were tested in Science and our 8th grade students were tested in Social Studies.  I am very proud of the effort that all of our students put forth while taking these tests.  I am also proud to report that our schoolwide scores increased in nearly every tested subject!  This is a significant achievement for our students and is a direct result of the high-quality instruction they are receiving as well as the incredible parental guidance and support they have on a daily basis!

The 2016 M-Step assessments featured some key enhancements that likely improved your child's testing experience...and could even lead to more precise measures of learning.  Total testing time was reduced by 2.5 - 8 hours for most students.  M-Step incorporated computer adaptive testing (CAT), which provides a more personalized test experience for students and improves test security.  Our school team and district teams are analyzing the results of the M-Step to make decisions that will help improve instruction.  The attached document is a guide to help parents and students understand their individual score reports.

Again, congratulations to all of our students on a job well done and thank you for your continued support of all of our programs here at the Junior High!
